Living Social Movie Deal

Another link to save some dollars! Right now Living Social (similar to Groupon) has a deal up for a voucher for two movie tickets for a total of $9.... how amazing is that?! Movie tickets by us are usually $10 each, so 2 for $9 is amazing.

It's one voucher per person and expires September 9, 2011. It has to be used on Fandango.com (you can't take it to the movie theater), and each ticket price can't exceed $15. I don't think there are any other restrictions! I'm buying one under my card and one under Ryan's... he loves going to the movies, so I was pretty thrilled to see this one. Here's a link in case you want to get in on all the movie fun!

Note: The links above are referral links and if 3 people click and buy from those links, my movie tickets are free. If you're going to buy.... please use my link? Pretty please???

Star Trek Review

Let me preface this entire review by saying I am sooo not a fan of Star Trek. I never watched the tv shows, I don't know the whole premise of the series, and I sometimes get it confused with Star wars (which I've also never seen).

That being said, Star Trek was one of the best movies I have seen in a LONG TIME.

While Jim Kirk (right, above picture) has the potential to be the main on-screen hottie, Spock (left, above picture) is oddly attractive with his weird eyebrows and calm demeanor. There is eye candy for all, ladies.

Also, let it be known that J.J. Abrams loves time travel. For those who haven't put 2 and 2 together, JJ is the mastermind behind the best tv series ever, LOST. If you love LOST, or really if you even like LOST for that matter, you'll really enjoy Star Trek. It has a ton of action, was easy to keep up with (even with all the time travel), and had a great cast. You also don't have to know anything about the original tv series. Action + JJ Abrams + hottie cast + Harold = hotness

That's right, Harold made it aboard the USS Enterprise.

I know my reviews aren't the greatest, but honestly, I give this movie 2 thumbs up. Spend the $10 to see it in the theaters; you'll be happy you did. (But if you didn't, I'm not offering any refunds).

Movie Review: Bride Wars

Ryan was away at a bachelor party (I'm hoping there's a point when boys stop throwing money at strippers and start realizing that if they saved those dollars, we'd be out of credit card debt) this weekend, so I took that opportunity to watch Bride Wars. It was iffy at most.

The acting was fine, Kate Hudson had amazing hair, and Anne Hathaway was a people pleaser per usual. What else do you need to know? Honestly, I was expecting a lot more (probably like you'll be expecting when you get done reading my crappy review). It's billed as a romantic comedy. It's semi-romantic and not-really-a-comedy. People, I am NOT hard to please... and I don't think I laughed once during the whole movie. The good parts were all in the movie trailers, and the rest of the movie fell sort of flat.

I paid $4.99 to rent in On Demand. Even that might be too much to pay to see it. At least I saved the $10 and 4000 calories (popcorn, duh) by waiting till it came out of the theaters.

My rating: Boo.
