Poor choice in mascots, I'd say.

Let me set the scene for you:

I'm baking 2 kinds of corn muffins (sweet and jalapeno) for my husband's potluck lunch at work tomorrow. He's on the couch in his boxers and a t-shirt watching the College Baseball World Series. Apparently UCLA and South Carolina are playing and the score is tied and the fans are going crazy. The fans are apparently all hot, blond college girls and they are getting their fair share of camera time. There is lots of yelling and cheering, but I'm not paying attention.

At this point, I'm mixing up the second batch of muffins with my back to the couch.

Ryan: Kate, look at these girls with Cocks written across their stomachs!
Me: Ew. Why?
Ryan: Because South Carolina's mascot is the gamecock. This is terrible.
Me: (not really paying attention) Eh, they must not have parents.

30 seconds later....

Ryan: (obviously bothered) Now they're screaming "cocks" into the camera. This is terrible! There is no way in hell our daughter is going to South Carolina. Just cross it off the list right now.

:::::::::::::::

Oh yes, folks. He is definitely the father of a daughter. Did you die a little from the adorableness? I did.

That hilarious! There is definitely something about daughters that dad's worry extra about.

The other day I overheard by husband and his best friend (who doesn't have any children) talking about how they will both be standing at the door waiting on her first date. And my husband adds that she will need to be at least 18. It cracked me up.
