Naked

It's true. I've been walking around naked for the past few days:

I can't even get on my plain wedding band any more. And so I've been walking around with a naked left ring finger, which I haven't done since 2007. It's weird and now needs to be rectified because apparently it makes other people uncomfortable and, in turn, makes me feel uncomfortable.

See, yesterday I went to Target to tool around and see what was on sale. My Target has a Starbucks inside and I usually get a decaf mocha light frappachino to sip on while spending all my dollars. Yesterday, though, I had my first (decaf) pumpkin spice latte of the season and it was glorious.

Except for all of the judging.

As I walked up and down the aisles in Target, holding my decaf latte in my naked left hand, I watched people look at my huge gut and then my naked hand, and then my coffee... and I could see their thought bubbles: Look at this fat, unwed, caffeine-fiend.

Ryan says I'm making this up, but I can assure you - I was judged. In Target. It was a shame. I thought I could just suck it up for the next 8.5 weeks without a wedding band, but I can't. Clearly a wedding band doesn't make me more or less married, but I love my wedding bands and I miss wearing them. That's where this little guy comes in:

This'll be my stand-in from now 'till my rings fit again, which probably won't be until after Baby Girl is here... only 8.5 weeks to go!!

Thankfully my finger isn't naked but I totally get those looks when I walk around with coffee...which yes happens often on Target trips! LOVE DECAF MOCHAS & cannot wait to get a PS Latte!

ohhh, do I know those judgey stares. & HATE THEM. I had to stop wearing my rings around 25 weeks & hated every second of it. Looking back, I should have just invested in a plain gold band to wear.

& LOVE pumpkin spice lattes. like, adore. on an unhealthy level.

it's true...people judge you when they don;t see a ring on your finger. Hello....ever heard of swelling during pregnancy. I really miss wearing mine :(

Hilarious! I usually go without my ring to the gym, but ever since I am sporting the baby bump, I wear it. I can totally relate to this post....great idea with the stand in ring!

I have to admit, I'd probably be one of those people, but mostly just on the pregnant w/ Starbucks. I don't think I'd ever look so hard to notice you not wearing a ring! It honestly never occurred to me that those women might be drinking decaf, or tea! I'm such an ass, sorry ladies if I've ever judged you unnecessarily! I sympathize on the ring thing. I had to have a fakie while my ring was off being sized and repaired before the wedding. I thought I'd be barraged with questions of whether the wedding had been called off, and I didn't want to deal with that. Yep, I'm lame on all counts!
Also, I LIVE for pumpkin spice latte season! YUM!
