What's New?

It's been a busy couple days.... but I don't feel like I've done anything!

We were in NJ this past weekend to see college friends, and sat for a total of 10 hours on 95/the Turnpike.... for a round trip that should have taken about 6, maybe 7. It sucked. The 3 hour drive between us and family/friends just plain sucks. Know what the real kicker is? I like living in Maryland. It would be one thing if I hated it here and constantly wanted to move back to NJ.... but on a day to day basis, we really like it here. We have friends, good jobs, a little townhouse, and we live in a good area.

But that 3 hour drive gets worse every time we make it. And I can only imagine how much it's going to suck with a teeny, tiny infant in the back seat.

::sigh::

We got our day care situation figured out! We visited a center a few weeks ago and fell in love with it... the rooms are very open, lots of windows, different rooms for different stage infants, and the center was clean without being sterile (if that makes sense). It was homey, but not too homey (and weird - I want my kid to be able to differenciate between home and day care, you know?). And the teachers were all awesome. Obviously it was the most expensive place we visited, but you get what you pay for, right?

We have to go put down the deposit this week, and I know it's going to be a (huge) hit to the wallet every week, but we really feel 100% great about this place. I'm actually pretty thrilled to cross this off the ever expanding list of things to do within the next 15.5 weeks (holy crap).

Ok, the next time you're in Jersey you must let me know... maybe bloggy internet friends can meet for coffee? I promise to not murder you! LOL. Seriously, I'm a Jersey girl!

Hope you're feeling good and the turnpike always sucks! and smells too. lol

Ugh, yes. I do remember the drive from MD up into the North. I'm not sure where in Jersey you are headed but I have found an alternate route to 95 that is much faster for my trips up to MA & VT and I still go through Jersey. It seriously saves hours on our trips!
