Refinishing; Revisited

I have mentioned numerous times that I'd love to buy some crap on CraigsList (wood doors, dressers, benches) and refinish it. In the end, I always chicken out because I don't have a garage to do this work in, and I'm not sure I have the endurance to really finish a whole dresser. From what I've seen online, it looks really labor intensive, and looks like it takes a long time.

I'm an instant results kind of girl (possibly why I start and quit exercise programs within 7 day period - no results!).

In an effort to start small (something I am also not known for), I have a little side table that needs a new finish so it matches the rest of the stuff in my living room. Allegedly I will be doing this on Saturday (along with picking out paint for the downstairs). I shall keep you posted.

I hear ya on the exercise thing. I can find an excuse for it anytime! Ugh.

My husband has refinished lots of things for us. I tried it once. I loved watching the table transform, but the smell got to me. I get migraines and it killed my head for a couple of days. I never got near the stuff again.
