Owner: Kenmore Sewing Machine

I did it. I bought a sewing machine. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but I am the proud owner of an $80 Kenmore 15343.... and apparently I got an amazing deal, as this model is not only going for $125 on Amazon.com, but it also got AMAZING reviews on Sears.com. So for the next few hours (you know, when I'm not sleeping because it is almost impossible to do so without a husband) I'll be fooling around with my new toy.

Marley is skeptical...
A close-up for your viewing pleasure...

The fabric... poppies for the outside and red silk for the lining...

In my head, that fabric will magically become a very cute clutch in a matter on minutes with my new handy-dandy sewing machine. In reality, I'm wondering what Sears' return policy is...

And in other news, Ryan just called and I filled him in on our hot weekend plans - building a headboard!! Yesterday, in an attempt to feng shui our bedroom, I moved some stuff around and the lack of a headboard is really apparent no matter what I move.

So until Sunday's DIY headboard bonanza, I'll be crafting little clutches (or poking out my eyes trying to thread the bobbin) with my sewing machine. Wish me luck (or leave me some advice).
