Here's a link to the furniture we're planning on purchasing. The room is 11'x10' with one window and a wall full of closet space (that is currently being used to store all kinds of crap that I cannot find a home for elsewhere rendering it useless for Baby H). I downloaded Room Arranger this morning and drew up a to-scale layout of the room (including the window, door, and closet). Then I was able to sort through the "items" Room Arranger provides to find what I needed - a dresser, a crib, and a rocking chair. All of these items were adjusted within the program to draw them to size.
Here's what I came up with....

I'm not sure what to do... what do you think will work the best? Suggestions for different layouts welcome!
I vote B...you can peek in the door and see the crib, you can also sit in the rocker and see the crib or only have 1 step to put the baby in the crip. You can put a small lamp on the dresser that would light the room, but not disturb the baby.

I like the chair by the window for sunlight/you can look out when feeding/rocking baby, i like crib not by window for somewhat darker naps, and i like dresser (where you will change baby presumably?) right by the crib for easy transfer :-)
Adam and I say "B." The crib and dresser shouldn't be that close to window because there could be a draft or baby stealers. Also, Marley won't be able to look out the window :)
ReplyDeleteA or D, I would say. The advice I was given when setting up the nursery is to have things that you will need close together. So having the dresser closer to the crib makes sense that way.
