Weight

Per my shocking announcement, yesterday Baby Girl turned two weeks old and she is growing like a weed! She was 8lbs, 13oz at birth and 8lbs 3oz when we were discharged on Day 5. Yesterday she clocked in at 9lbs even... she looooves eating, which is good because I love snuggling and nursing means lots of uninterrupted snuggle time every day.

She's gaining weight, which is awesome, and I'm losing... which is also awesome.

My last belly shot was on Friday, October 22 at 38 weeks:

I can't believe there was an 8lb, 13 oz baby in there just 2 weeks ago. It's mind boggling, really. In my 38th week, the scale was tipping alarmingly close to the 200 pound mark... I think at exactly 38 weeks I was 194lbs on my home scale. When I woke up on October 26 and realized I was in labor, I really wish I would have had the mind to ask Ryan to take one last belly shot... sadly, I was a bit more focused on the fact that I was in labor and so there are only some very unflattering photos of me actually in labor at the hospital.

But I did have the mind to step on the doctor's scale one last time on my way out of the midwife's office before we headed to the hospital.... my final, all-time high pregnancy weight?

197 pounds. Yikes. I do remember telling Ryan I was sorry I didn't hit 200, because I did semi-want to see that on the digital scale. At any rate, I put on a total of 60 pounds with this pregnancy.

As of today, at exactly 2 weeks postpartum, I'm down to 162. Whoooo hoooo... 35 lbs down in 2 weeks. Not too shabby! The photo evidence:

Don't mind the soap streaks on the mirror... I now wash my hands 50x a day and sometimes my thorough washing splatters all over.

So I'm 35 down and still have 25 lbs to go to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. My plan is to eat when I'm hungry, make sure I'm drinking enough water, and just make sure I'm not mindlessly snacking just because I can...... until my 6 week checkup. Once I get the ok to start exercising, it's time for Weight Watchers (for nursing mothers!)... because clearly I'd rather restrict my calorie intake than go for a run :-)

Edited To Add: I got on the scale this morning and it said 159.... whoooo hooooo!! 38 down and 22 to go!

You look fantastic!! I think your eating plan sounds like a winner. Nursing really helped me loose the weight I think. I ate way more when nursing than pregnant!
