Vacation

Someone's 27 week belly hung out on the beach for 4 full days of glorious sun, sand, and 85 degree ocean water:My thighs shook all over the Oak Island Beach, my upper region got burnt to hell, my short hair looked horrific when wet... and none of that mattered because I was at the beach.

I am in love with the crashing waves, the salty air, the gritty sand between my toes.

I am in love with the sandpipers running up and down the beach, the pelicans dive bombing the ocean's surface, the sound of small children splashing in the water.

I am in love with cheery seaside homes, tall dune grass, and the rain clouds that rolled in every day for just an hour before blowing back out to sea.

But the best part of our vacation? Spending time with my family:

... and knowing that when we go to visit next year, we will have a happy baby girl who is just as in love with the beach as her momma.

Oh, I wish you could see a picture of my pregnant bathing suit circa 1984. You have no idea just how cute you look in yours! I am a beach girl, so I loved these pictures!
