The Perfect Gift

It's just 1 month and 5 days till our first anniversary and I've found the perfect paper gift for my sweet husband. Sadly, I can't tell you what it is because sometimes he wanders over and I wouldn't want to give up the surprise just yet.

I can tell you that it's manly, totally reflects on our wedding day, and isn't anything that he'll expect. It's also not paper parading around as another gift (like a gift certificate), though I did have something like that in mind before I came up with this genius idea.

Anywho, plans for our anniversary are well under way! Our hotel is booked, a fresh top tier of our wedding cake has been ordered, and our photographer is booked. The only thing we need now is dinner reservations! We were thinking The Federal House. They have great food and it's a quick walk from the hotel, down by the water. If I have time today maybe I'll make those reservations....

I can't believe we've been married for almost a year! I wish we would have written down how much debt we came into our marriage with so that we could celebrate how far we've come over the last year. But then again, with just about a year left of this debt nonsense, maybe it's best we don't know how much money we could have been putting into a house savings account. Yes, it's better we don't know.... because it's probably a lot.

Want to know the best part about this anniversary gift? It is completely awesome and completely inexpensive... but it's not homemade. Wondering what it is? Check back after November 7!

I'm headed in to work now (yes, at 2pm) and will be there for the next 12-13 hours (yes, until about 2 or 3 AM). Wish me luck!

Wow-that sounds very fancy for a first anniversary. I didn't know you could order a new cake topper (we tried to eat the old one...ick), nor did I know that anyone had pictures done for a first anniversary. Sounds like a great celebration. I'm glad you found a gift you like, men are so hard to buy for.

Sounds like a fun weekend in Annapolis! Don't go too late to Federal House - the bar can get a bit clubby on weekend nights. If you want romantic but a bit fancier - definitely check out Cafe Normandie on Main St. or Carrol's Creek in Eastport (just over bridge) - I worked there for years and still my favorite food in town!

Oooh Miss M I second Carrol's Creek! Or if you really want to splurge, Lewnes' Steakhouse is unbelievable- you'll never want to go to Ruth's Chris again!

Can't wait to see what your gift for your hubby is!
