Now, I'm keeping the gold T because I like the way it fits. I was going through my closet and thought the grey/navy stripes might look good with the gold. Here it is:
So today the Gap cardi goes back (and I get back $50!) and my search for an outfit continues. I loved all of your suggestions yesterday, so keep them coming! Some things to keep in mind - we're doing the shoot in downtown Annapolis. This lots of little shops, cobblestone roads, and lots of sailboats on the water. Ryan and I are pretty simple people. We live in comfy clothes (we're 27 and dress like we're in college - I keep telling myself this isn't a problem until we have kid who is old enough to tell us she's embarrassed by this) on the weekend, and therefore would prefer to keep this less "dressy" and more "casual chic" (I literally have no idea what it means - I hope it means jeans and a sweater). For Ryan, I'm thinking jeans and a navy 1/4 zip sweater (it matches his eyes and he looks great in it). For me.... um.....
So - what do you think? Navy/grey striped sweater too casual? I'm not exactly skinny, so just keep that in mind :-) But otherwise - what would you suggest?
EDIT:
New contender.... how about this outfit? (Notice I have been cutting off my face - no make up n yet) Or not so much?

I really like the purple sweater, but I know what you mean about it not being V-neck. Honestly though, I didn't even notice it wasn't V-neck until you pointed it out... I think it looks really cute! :)
I like the new contender. It is a little more exciting, if you will, than the other ones. The stripe shirt is too casual, I don't like it.
I'll give you my opinion, but I'll also warn you: I'm really good with color, but style? Not so much.
I LOVE the plum and gold!! However, if you don't like it, don't wear it. I do like the gray/navy sweater with it! That's my suggestion, especially if you like the way it looks. New contender? I'm not into it. Steph says it's exciting, but I like the more casual look of the gray/navy.
Ultimately, I say choose what YOU like the bet. I cast my vote already. I enjoyed giving you my 2 cents. ;D
You should never ask a group of women for opinions...you will get so confused. I liked the first look, I think you could have made it a little "cooler" with a lightweight scarf looped around your neck. They are casual and really in style now. The last look is good, a little sexier if that is what you are going for. I vote no on the second one. Oh, and I still wear jeans, sweaters and boots...not much different than when I was in college. The thing about your kids getting older...I take her hand-me-downs now.

I'm certainly no fashion expert, but I actually really like the 2nd one.
Here's another thought to throw into the mix....how about a colorful shrug over the "T"....just a thought..
