Parks and Recreation...

...like The Office, but with playgrounds.

It's hysterical. I had high hopes for the new NBC show Parks and Recreation for two (semi-ridiculous) reasons:
  1. It takes place in Indiana. I used to live in Indiana.
  2. It is about a Parks and Recreation department (in Indiana). I applied to work at various Parks and Recreation departments in Indiana. The fact that I was never hired for a real job with the Parks and Rec department in Vigo County and had to work at the Olive Garden and BMG Columbia House is completely irrelevant. Thankfully we moved back to the east coast before I had a chance to slit my wrist with a copy of Monster-In-Law while sitting at my little computer station (jail cell) in the North American headquarters for BMG Columbia House (Hell).

So when it came on last Thursday... and it was funny..... I was thrilled. Amy Poelher is hysterical (per usual) and the story line was pretty funny. The second episode comes on tonight at 8:30pm, and incase you missed the pilot, here it is for your viewing pleasure:

I watched a few minutes of this last week before the obligatory "closing out" hall meeting. It surely emanates The Office. We even came close to comparing characters. Funny, though.

I can't edit my comment, but I meant "emulates" not "emanates."
